3D scan…round 1 & 2!
Description
On Monday we went for our 3D scan!! I was so excited at the thought of seeing J in sepia, but also at being able to see J’s face with all his/her flesh and skin!
Round 1:
9:30 – we go in for our scan. The sonographer drops mounds of ice-cold jelly onto my tummy and starts scanning… J appears on the screen! however, J had his little face tucked right in under my short ribs!! try as we might, we couldnt get a nice pic as there was too much tissue and bone on the way! so the sonographer tries to wake J up! she wriggles and jiggles my tummy and pushes and prods…. all to no avail! we did get to see a great shot of J yawning and then turning over!! so i guess J was just tired!! ( I will be posting that video clip soon! its so cute) By the end of this scan i thought that my ribs were bruised from all the attempts to get a pic of J!! 
The sonographer said that we should try some coke and chocolate and come back in an hour! So we dashed off home and i plied myself with coke and chocolate!! *sigh* the woes of pregnancy!!
Round 2:
11:00 – back in for our next attempt! im positive that after all the chocolate and coke (ok so maybe i overdid it a tad) J will be bouncing and will give us some great pics!! But no!!!
J was very busy and was kicking and moving around! He/she had turned completely in my tummy and was now on the right hand-side and just above my hip bone! so with nothing in the way, we all thought that we’d get great pics… but…
It seems that J is a lot like his dad!! a real little prankster all ready! everytime we thought we had a nice pic of J’s face, he would turn his face in and hide in the placenta!! 
It was all very cute to watch and we now have over 30 mins of DVD footage of the scan!! and we are being given another crack at the scan next week! so thats great!! hopefully this time J will let us get some pics! but if not…its all good!!
