here we go again :-(
Description
” here we go again, huh?” jessie is back on an antibiotic! its the fourth time in 8 months! ever since she slowed down and stopped breastfeeding, she has been getting sick! im seriously considering putting her back on the breast! this is getting silly.
yesterday she seemed a tad off, and this morning she looked very tired. i decided for her that she needed a nap. i tried to get her to lie down, and thats when the screaming started. now normally if shes very tired and fighting sleep, she will cry for a bit (with me holding her, patting her or rubbing her back) and then drift off. not today! she cried for an hour and a half. she couldnt tell me if anything was wrong but just wouldnt stop. i gave her some panado and then she told me her right ear was sore. i made her a doctors appointment on the spot.
told B about it after his exam (hes finished them all now!!) and here i was thinking im such a good mom. in my head we’d caught it early and was it was going to be trivial. maybe even just ear drops said B…
the doctor looks in jessies right ear and says eina, then she looks in the left ear and says that its worse than the right! she says its a raging ear infection and that shes surprized jess hasnt screamed more! she puts jess on 20ml of antibiotic a day for 10 days, a whole host of other meds and says we must bring her back in 2 weeks for a check-up as if its not clear she will probably need grommets!! huh???
how did that go so pear-shaped so quickly? poor jessie has been very very sore! heres hoping she sleeps!!

Oh hun, that’s terrible. Shame. Don’t worry it happened to me with Hana once. I took her to the GP on the Wednesday for something and having checked her ears she was fine. By Friday she was spiking temps over 40 and had severe otitis media in both ears!
I’m sure she’ll be much better soon.
Aw my friend, I’m so so sorry! You are a great mommy and it happens to the best of us!!!
I feel like a total imbesile as Courts has had bronchiolitis 3 times in her short little 2 years!!!
It happens…
Shame hun, I hope that the meds are helping and that she won’t have to have the grommets. I can only imagine how stressed you must be at just the thought, and I know what I am about to say probably won’t make you feel any better…but, many baba’s have had this and pulled through it with out grommets…so have hope!
Also, Ive’s cousin’s little boy also had problems from 18 months and they also wanted to do grommets. So she did a little research and took him to a brilliant chiropractor in town…and vuwala (spl)…no grommets!!! And he still has no problems!
Shame hun, I sure hope she’s starting to get a bit better already!
All my love and prayers coming your way…
Love
Sim
If its any consolation Lauren, once they have the grommets, they MUCH MUCH better. Connor was on 14 lots of AB’s in the first 18 months of his life, then he had his tonsils removed, grommets put in and he’s MUCH better.
Hope the ear ache gets better soon!
Hey Hun, i am so sorry to hear that! Gosh, i can only imagine how drained you are.
Will keep you guys in my prayers
