jessie on hospital

im sitting here blogging about it, while jess is in hospital with b. it sucks!!
basically, she came down with a gastro-like virus on sunday. she had high temperatures, was cranky, vomiting and had runny nappies. i tried some over-the-counter meds, but by that afternoon she was worse. so we took her off to Intercare. the doc diagnosed her with gastro and even considered Swine Flu! she was given more meds.
The voltaren did nothing for her temp! she still vomited everything up and had runny poos. Monday she seemed a bit better on her anti-nausea meds, but was still looking awful and had very high temps. the doc said we should just try keeping her hydrated, and to watch her. she had periods where she seemed ok, but by last night she was very miserable and lethargic again.
she has quite a rough night, with 2 very watery nappies, but seemed better off the bat this morning. then it seemed to hit her. she just lay with her head in my lap and slept. then she lay on the floor and slept. she didnt move much and was very pale and weak. we decided that she needed to get checked out at hospital.
they gave her a drip (after trying 3 different areas!) in her foot! and administered fluids. she slept some more, but was rather upset by the drip and more suppositories! we were told that she’d be admitted for observation, but that if she kept the liquid down we could probably go home later.
off we went to the ward, fully prepared to be back home later. POP went that bubble!!! the paed looked at her and her blood results and said she’d need to stay overnight!!! my poor bean, poor me! B has/had to stay with her as im breastfeeding jack. so its the first time we’ve ever been apart for longer than 4 hours. my heart broke. i didnt realise how sick she is. i mean i knew she was sick, but didnt think she was so sick.
ill write more tomorrow. right now im drained!
