Boys that is! We’ve all heard it before, but living it is something else entirely. One gets to appreciate all the “horror” stories, and add some of your own.
Having read James Dobsons, Raising Boys, I did learn some interesting things. (or should i say, things were re-affirmed??) But basically the main point is that boys are wired very differently to girls, and that some things are just ingrained. Being able to see the differences now in J and J is qiute something!
Jack has already eaten a centipede, snails, attempted a LIVE christmas beetle, soil, and has a preference for crayons! Jessie would NEVER and has never, in fact most often, she is too scared to touch them! Jack has a definite need to explore the world him and everything in it! he is driven to climb things, pull some dangerous stunts (climbing kitchen counters, dragging chairs to climb on tables etc), to touch everything, to try everything (even though he is too small) and to let the whole world know that he is frustrated if he cant do something! (or if mommy takes him away because its life-threatening) He is happiest when he is doing! He is not one to sit and watch the world go by, not jack, he has to be a part of the happenings around him.
This does cause a problem when he’s tired! he struggles to switch off when everyone else is busy doing something. There have been times, that while sitting in his high chair, he has nearly fallen asleep, but as soon as we take him out and he sees Jess running, he just bolts straight after her and will carry on going, until the action is finished. (or we get in the car to go home, or switch off the lights and keep everything calm-ish)
Boys just seem to naturally have a will to do it ALL. Maybe i just have 1 on each end of the scale? It will be very interesting to see who 3nut turns out be. maybe he/she will be a combo of both? Or perhaps 3nut will be a boy just like jack! Or a girl just like jessie. only time will tell.
But in the meantime we will cherish every moment of madness, every giggle, every cuddle, every kiss, every moment with these angels until we get to do it all 3 times over! 3 times the fun, 3 times the love, 3 times the kisses, 3 times the cuddles!
Life is great!
