today’s blessed discovery

b was telling me today about a song he had listened to. he was telling me about how it resonated with him, and he shared it with me. Its pretty amazing… no it’s awesome! its actually a life philosophy.

Psalm 23

1The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Many of us ( i know I do) fear talking about blessings or good luck as we fear that we may jinx it. We fear that if we verbalize it, everything will come crashing down around us. We look at it as a run of good luck. When in truth, its what God has\had in store for us.

He looks after us. He sees to it that we are looked after. He sees to everything. So why then do we live in fear? Why do we allow daily stresses to bring us down? He is bigger than everything! Imagine living as though “goodness and mercy” follow us everyday. Imagine being able to let go, not expect the bad all the time and simply live knowing that God is in control.

Ours cups run over thanks to His sacrifice, grace, goodness and mercy. There is no jinx, there is no such thing as a run of good luck. Its all blessings from God. We love Him, He is our Father, He cares for us and He provides it all! Satan uses the fear to hold us back. He uses it to keep us from fully acknowledging how amazing life in Christ is.

In Christ we are free, He has everything of sorted for us. We just need to set out eyes on Him and keep focused!

( i started this post months ago… it was an awesome blessing to rediscover tonight… I needed reminding)
