Box day

Description

Today was box day :-D our very first box day! I ordered our curriculum last Thursday and it arrived today. It took 6 days to get from Memphis in the USA to me in Cape Town, South Africa! It has blown b and I away!

I somehow (ok, Kyla was sleeping in arms) managed to wait for b to get back from his swim, before opening it. WOW!!! It was full of amazing books. The school year looks like its going to be tons of fun.

I will admit, that while I was putting my Instructors Guide in order, I was a bit daunted. I kept thinking… What if I fail? I’m sure that we will have to find our feet and a new rhythm. Hopefully we will settle into that and be able to go full steam after a week or 2.

I have a few ideas in my head of how to incorporate the lessons into our day, but I want to just play with a few things and see how it goes. I know I will definitely be setting my phone onto silent during school time and will tell our family and friends to call after our school work is done.

Its so exciting and real now! :-D After christmas, I intend to sit down with our box and read everything and get properly organised!

    Happy Box Day!

    I know the IG can be overwhelming at first, but remember: This is a full year’s worth of material and it’s a tool not a taskmaster. Take it slow at the beginning and you’ll do great!

    Thanks a million!

    I intend to spend a few days next week sorting and reading through everything. I’m glad we are starting with Pre-K so that we can feel our way through in the beginning and find what works for us.
